There's no way Harvey Weinstein would open the film in New York and LA while so much of the world's film press is gathered in Toronto (they'd be unavailable for press screenings for over a week before the release). My instinct is that he's planning on making a huge splash at TIFF then going into theatres while the anticipation is at its peak.
