Deleted Scene: Boogie Nights, Johnny Doe

        
               INT.  DIRK'S APARTMENT - ANOTHER NIGHT

               Almost identical situation again.  Todd enters quickly.  
               SUPER QUICK DOLLY IN.

                                     TODD
                         I'm back.

                                     DIRK
                         Fancy feet.

               They set up some coke.  Reed moves into the kitchen to the 
               b.g. and starts to make himself a protein shake.

                                     TODD
                         This stuff is Super-Kick-Ass.  I 
                         bought some extra, just in case you 
                         wanna smoke some.

                                     DIRK
                         You got a pipe?

                                     TODD
                         Yeah.

               CAMERA HOLDS A CU ON A LINE OF COKE.  Dirk snorts back a 
               line.  Todd sets some up in a pipe and smokes, then hands it 
               over to Dirk, who gets set to hit the pipe...Reed calls out 
               from the Kitchen;

                                     REED (OC)
                         Oh my god, Dirk...I forgot to tell 
                         you --

                                     DIRK
                         What?

                                     REED (OC)
                         You remember that kid Johnny Doe?

                                     DIRK
                         No.

                                     REED
                         You remember --

                                     DIRK
                         Yeah, yeah.

                                     REED
                         He died in a car accident.  Can you 
                         believe that?  A week ago.

                                     SCOTTY J.
                         Really?

                                     REED
                         Really.  I can't believe I forgot to 
                         tell you that.  He's dead.  Can you 
                         believe it?  Dead.

               Dirk TORCHES UP and smokes the coke from the pipe, exhales 
               and says;

                                     DIRK
                         Tough luck.
