Great that Let There be Light is included! Saw Back Beyond at a screening, it's terrific. Unguided Message has my curiosity, same with the featurette. Really glad they included Pauls teasers (hopefully in HD). I never expected a commentary, so all things considered this package is as good as i could have hoped for and considering Let There Be Light is included, it's better than I expected.

ReplyDeleteInteresting how, for the bluray cover art they went with the Rorschach test DVD cover art similarly displayed on the DVD of Bergman's Face to Face instead of the earlier more cryptic bottle of booze movie poster. Let's hope the behind the scenes featurette is a real peach being similar in depth and length to the Magnolia Diary. Maybe once again, at The Master premiere, like at the Magnolia premiere, we'll overhear Paul asking, "Where's my fuckin' walkie-talkie?"

what exactly costs 100 bucks, the player? dvd's are dead and soon, blu-rays will be too. but given the fact that blu-ray discs and dvd's are within 1-3 dollars difference in price to purchase, just get the blu-ray player, already. i think it's a proved format.

I have s feeling that the Punch Drunk Love bluray will be a 4K transfer. Being a Columbia/Sony release it makes sense. Judging by what Sony released at CES this year, it appears going forward Sony is really pushing 4K. Jeremy Blake's artwork and Paul's use of color in PDL would be ideal in 4K.

ReplyDeleteLooks like amazon.ca has this listed as April 2nd. Pretty unusual for Canada and the U.S. to have different release dates, so hopefully this will change.
ReplyDeleteThis is a combo pack. It has a reversable cover. All the extras are in hd but let there be light and unguided message which is strangely 1:85 non-anamorphic. The picture however is flawless.
