WATCH: PTA Interviews Scorsese, Somner on 'Wolf of Wall Street'

If you'll remember back in 2011, Paul Thomas Anderson conducted a Q&A with Martin Scorsese and his creative team over their film "Hugo". Paul was in post-production on The Master at the time. Now, in 2014, with Paul in post-production on his follow-up to The Master, Martin Scorsese has released his follow-up to Hugo: The Wolf of Wall Street. Wouldn't it be great if these two contemporary maestros teamed up again for another Q&A?

Ask and you shall receive.

Over at Awards Daily, Sasha Stone has kindly uploaded over 30 minutes of footage of a post-Wolf-screening Q&A with Marty, a shaggy-haired Paul, and Adam Somner, who has served as First Assistant Director for both directors ('Wolf' for Scorsese; There Will Be Blood, The Master, and Inherent Vice for PTA). The conversation that transpired is extremely insightful, and with not a little humor.

Needless to say, If you haven't seen the film, watch at your own discretion.

Leonardo Dicaprio Biggest Regret: Boogie Nights

Today, ShowBizSpy reported what it says in our headline: Leonardo's biggest regret in his career to date was walking away from Boogie Nights. In their words:

Leonardo DiCaprio admits his “biggest regret” is turning down the chance to star in Boogie Nights.
The Titanic star — who is currently riding high at the box office with summer blockbuster Inception — says he still can’t forget the one dream role that got away.
“My biggest regret is Boogie Nights,” says Leo, who lost the role of porn star Dirk Diggler to close pal Mark Wahlberg. “I’m a huge fan of (director) Paul Thomas Anderson but the first time I met him for that role I hadn’t really seen much of his previous work. Now I love that movie."

After looking through a few hundred entries of the Magnolia DVD Contest, I've just got one thing to say, "Uh Oh!" I'm not getting very many correct entries at this point. Do yourself a favor & check out the Articles & Interviews section for answers to most of the questions. To help you out a bit, I will give you a two hints on where the first public screening of Magnolia was held. PTA wanted to show it somewhere away from the film industry & wanted one of the stars to see it while he was on location shooting his next film...To enter the contest go here.

Did anyone catch the Hard Eight screening this past weekend at the Reno Film Festival or the Boogie Nights screening at the Egyptian? Drop me a line & let me know how it went...

John C. Reilly will be featured in Martin Scorsese's new film, The Gangs of New York with Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz & Daniel Day-Lewis. It's currently filming overseas in Rome & is scheduled for release in 2001. (Thanks Anne!)

Magnolia dropped to 21st place on the VHS rentals chart for the week ending October 1st.  Weekly rental revenue was 0.82 million for a total of 42.3 million since its release on July 25th. These numbers are courtesy of National Rental Revenue & Video Store Magazine.
