Short but great little burst of an update for you all today. As the production got underway in Pasadena yesterday, some very fun new photos were snapped showing Doc Sportello in different threads than the other set of photos that leaked recently, as well as (and perhaps more excitingly) a first peek at what Martin Short will look like in the film. Once again, if you feel the photos might spoil anything for you, we'll drop 'em after the jump for ya.

ReplyDeleteJeff Sneider (who has been dead-on about everything regarding the film) said he heard Short is playing a dentist. So that means Rudy Blatnoyd.

DeleteIf that car they're getting into in the 4th pic down is a beige Mercedes 10 years older than the era in which this takes place, which it looks to be, then Short is definitely Dr. Blatnoyd. He's wearing the "suit in a deep, nearly ultraviolet shade of velvet"

ReplyDeleteThe odds are against it - - - she doesn't show up very often in the book and wouldn't be near the car with Doc and Dr. Blatnoyd.
DeleteMuch better chance that is a blonde Jena Malone (Japonica) since these were from the part of the story with Blatnoyd (Short).

Nicholson has retired. And Mickey Wolfmann hardly appears in the movie outside of photographs and very brief glimpses, unless they decide to do flashbacks.

ReplyDeleteAs stated earlier in the comments, the part of Denis is being played by Jordan Christian Hearn. A newcomer, but apparently PTA liked what he saw in the auditions.
