  1. I'm guessing Bigfoot? Could work...

  2. Looks like PTA and Brolin might have developed a little friendship that summer in Little Boston, oops, Marfa Texas where the Coens were filming No Country For Old Men. I remember on the Little Boston website seeing pics Paul and some of the crew shooting off fireworks on the 4th of July. Maybe we'll get some behind the scenes photos this time as well with Vice.

    3. I think the pics have long since vanished into internet obscurity. They were on the Little Boston website from the summer of '06 when Paul and the PTA All Stars were in Marfa filming Blood. They showed the crew engaging in a little tomfoolery when the cameras weren't rolling. There was no playing grab-ass displayed in the pics, just a little good old fashioned tomfoolery to lighten up the night.

  3. Brolin would fit Bigfoot really well unless PTA wants to focus on the physical intimidation side of the character. Bigfoot is supposed to tower over Doc and Brolin is only 5'10". This is why I wouldn't even mind Vince Vaughn considering he is 6'5" and actually showed some strong acting chops about 15 years ago. Whatever Brolin plays in this, he will be great. Love the guy.

  4. Probably easier to start listing people who are NOT in the movie.

  5. Sean Penn is still not confirmed, though, right?

  6. Let's note that Deadline reports "Brolin has been set for a key role". So gotta be Bigfoot or Denis right?

    1. "Key" could mean many things. I would say Bigfoot is likely but if Penn is out or isn't Prussia then Brolin would be a nice fit there as well. I don't really see him as Denis

    2. Yeah i agree. 'Key' could definitely be a more relative term than one might think. I mean even Tito could be considered 'key' at one point... whose role is yet to be officially cast as well.

  7. It's good that you guys put a hyphen in 're-make', but you miss-ed the ones in 'suc-ceed-ing', 'be-com-ing', 're-port-ed-ly', 'add-ed', 'sect-ion', 'need-s' and so on. Be more care-ful.

    1. could you imagine......?! Ed Norton is superb. my respect for him went way up after he worked with Wes Anderson

    2. Ed is my favorite actor of his generation. he kind of dropped off the map around the 2000's, but he was king from '96 to 2000. He's said he wants to be the Joseph Cotton to Wes Anderson's Orson Welles... Imagine if he did the same with PTA!!

    3. besides working with Fincher, Spike Lee, Woody Allen, Milos Forman, and recently Wes Anderson, Norton hasn't really gotten to work with that many A-list directors for an actor of his caliber. (Although he is scheduled to work with both Wes Anderson and Alejandro Inarritu next which is very exciting). I would love to see him in Inherent Vice (in fact after seeing Leaves of Grass, I think he would have made an excellent Doc). IMO, PTA and Norton are the best director and actor to come out of the 90s, and I hope to god they can work together at some point in the future.

  16. Here's some out of the box casting that might be cool: Jason Mewes as Glen Charlock?

    1. Weird but actually maybe could be interesting... real life former heroin addict, has that stoner 60s look, pretty funny (if you've been listening to jay and silent bob get old recently he's a really funny dude), and he's greatly improved as an actor since clerks, just watch Zack and Miri! Plus Charlock is a jail bird that owes money to loan sharks, so maybe he could do it. Would never actually happen though

  17. Does anyone know why Jeannie Berlin has been added to the cast list on imdb as Aunt Reet??

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1791528/?ref_=sr_1

I know IMDB is not a reliable source, but has any one heard anything about this?

    1. Ha. It has to be true because why would anyone make something like this up?

    2. And it doesn't even have (rumoured) against it. Maybe her agent added the info?

  18. He would be a good Bigfoot I think. He's not very tall but Joaquin is only 5'8, so it would work out fine.
