WGA Nominates ‘The Master' For Best Original Screenplay

  2. I'm starting to think PTA has a pretty good chance at winning Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars. Certainly, Mark Boal is the favorite, but I think (1) there will ultimately be a little bit of ZDT backlash, (2) Boal just won a few years back, (3) PTA has always had the acting contingent of the voters on his side.

    PTA's stature as one of Hollywood's best writer/directors continues to grow, and I think they'll want to finally give him his first honor, thinking correctly that it's long overdue.

    It's clear this won't be his year or film for Best Director or Best Picture, but Original Screenplay seems like it might be a nice fit this time around.
